Got this in an email and ...well just read it.

It is a long read, but, worth it.

If you have ever used an electric fence or know someone who has one, you should read this.
The language used is a bit salty, but 'he tells it like it is' without cursing.
This is funny....and true. This was sent by a retired dentist.

We have the standard 6 ft. fence in the backyard, and a few months ago, I heard about burglaries increasing dramatically in the entire city.
To make sure this never happened to me, I got an electric fence and ran a single wire along the top of the fence.

Actually, I got the biggest cattle charger Tractor Supply had made for 26 miles of fence.
I then used an 8 ft. long ground rod, and drove it 7.5 feet into the ground.
The ground rod is the key, with the more you have in the ground, the better the fence works.

One day I'm mowing the back yard with my cheapo Wal-Mart 6 hp big wheel push mower.
The hot wire is broken and laying out in the yard. I knew for a fact that I unplugged the charger.
I pushed the mower around the wire and reached down to grab it, to throw it out of the way.

It seems as though I hadn't remembered to unplug it after all.

Now I'm standing there, I've got the running lawnmower in my right hand and the 1.7 giga-volt fence wire in the other hand.
Keep in mind the charger is about the size of a marine battery and has a picture of an upside down cow on fire on the cover.

Time stood still.

The first thing I notice is my pecker trying to climb up the front side of my body.
My ears curled downwards and I could feel the lawnmower ignition firing in the backside of my brain.
Every time that Briggs & Stratton rolled over, I could feel the spark in my head. I was literally at one with the engine.

It seems as though the fence charger and the piece of shit lawnmower were fighting over who would control my electrical impulses.

Science says you cannot crap, pee, and vomit at the same time. I beg to differ.
Not only did I do all three at once, but my bowels emptied 3 different times in less than half of a second.
It was a Matrix kind of bowel movement, where time is creeping along and you're all leaned back
and BAM BAM BAM you just crap your pants 3 times. It seemed like there were minutes in between but in reality it was so close together
it was like exhaust pulses from a big block Chevy turning 8 grand.

At this point I'm about 30 minutes (maybe 2 seconds) into holding onto the fence wire.
My hand is wrapped around the wire palm down so I can't let go. I grew up on a farm so I know all about electric fences ... but
Dad always had those piece of shit chargers made by International or whoever that were like 9 volts and just kinda tickled.

This one I could not let go of. The 8 foot long ground rod is now accepting signals from me through the permadamp Ark-La-Tex river bottom soil.
At this point I'm thinking I'm going to have to just man up and take it, until the lawnmower runs out of gas.

'Damn!,' I think, as I remember I just filled the tank! Now the lawnmower is starting to run rough. It has settled into a loping run pattern
as if it had some kind of big lawnmower race cam in it. Covered in poop, pee, and with my vomit on my chest I think 'Oh God please let me die .... Pleeeeaze .
But nooooo, it settles into the rough lumpy cam idle nicely and remains there, like a big bore roller cam EFI motor waiting for the go command from its owner's right foot.

So here I am in the middle of July, 104 degrees, 80% humidity, standing in my own backyard,
begging God to kill me. God did not take me that day ..... he left me there covered in my own fluids
to writhe in the misery my own stupidity had created.

I honestly don't know how I got loose from the wire ....

I woke up laying on the ground hours later. The lawnmower was beside me, out of gas.
It was later on in the day and I was sunburned.

There were two large dead grass spots where I had been standing, and then another long skinny dead spot
where the wire had laid while I was on the ground still holding on to it.
I assume I finally had a seizure and in the resulting thrashing had somehow let go of the wire.

Upon waking from my electrically induced sleep I realized a few things:

1 - Three of my teeth seem to have melted.

2 - I now have cramps in the bottoms of my feet and my right butt cheek (not the left, just the right).

3 - Poop, pee, and vomit when all mixed together, do not smell as bad as you might think.

4 - My left eye will not open.

5 - My right eye will not close.

6 - The lawnmower runs like a sumbitch now. Seriously! I think our little session cleared out some carbon fouling or something
because it was better than new after that.

7 - My nuts are still smaller than average yet they are almost a foot long. ROFLMAO

8 - I can turn on the TV in the game room by farting while thinking of the number 4 (still don't understand this???).

That day changed my life. I now have a newfound respect for things.
I appreciate the little things more, and now I always triple check to make sure the fence is unplugged before I mow.

The good news, is that if a burglar does try to come over the fence, I can clearly visualize
what my security system will do to him, and THAT gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling all over, which also reminds me to triple check before I mow.

"Shoulda, woulda, coulda..." " Hindsight is always 20/20..." the rallying cry of the not-so-prepared. Granted unforeseen things do occur but you make preparations as best as you can, and then you just have to adapt, improvise, and overcome. Unfortunately sometimes you are the windshield and others you are the bug.

I try to live my life that way. I don't sweat the small stuff and try not to let the ignorance of others affect my way of looking at the world. I try to judge everybody by their actions and deeds, not necessarily by their race or job (although its real hard if their job is customer service).

If I cannot do anything about a situation, I try to not worry about it. The operative word there is try. I can just prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

But if I can do something about a situation, I will.

While reading a MSM story about decreased violent crime statistics, it occurred to me that maybe instead of LEO doing more to curb crime... that maybe, just maybe it decreased because of more guns being sold to law abiding citizens and criminals are more cautious in committing a violent crime on the chance that they may pick a armed citizen instead of a unarmed victim. I am very curious to see those statistics but will probably never because it would not be PC to advocate the "gunning down of the poor victim of circumstance who was just trying to get money to support his unfortunate drug habit" by taking the watch and wallet of a guy who is minding his own business... Oh wait... I forgot I am not PC...

Axe or Machete?

I want to put either a machete or an axe in my BOB. On one hand a machete is good for trail clearing and small trees for firewood and shelter. not to mention the removal of the head of any zombie that may wander my way. On the otherhand, an small axe will chop wood and with a flattened head will hammer nails. I dont know which I will choose. Maybe both, but then weight becomes an issue.

I have 2 stepdaughters whose biological father ( hereby known after as the sperm donor or Asshat) has either disowned them or vice versa. Actually he has 4 daughters and 3 are estranged. Now 3 out of four is a damn good batting average in baseball, not so much estranged daughters. This Asshat kicked the daughter out of his home, accusing her of stealing from her baby sisters piggy bank and touching her inappropriately. The touching apparently came because the baby has a yeast infection. Now I am not a genius but if the doctor who saw her thought there were signs of abuse then CPS would be calling. I tend to believe my stepdaughter when she says that she did not steal. It was prolly the baby's fat ass mama. My stepdaughter is coming to live with us after high school graduation in 3 weeks. I wonder what the lazy bitches are going to do for a babysitter, a maid, and cook. What ever shall they do when the child support that we pay is cut off.

The funny thing about this whole situation is this stupid idiotic Asshat professes to be a upstanding and devout Christian. He signs his texts with "God is Great". God may be great but the sperm donor sucks big hairy donkey nuts for fun. I have nothing but contempt for a man who hides his baser instincts behind a wall of self-righteousness.

I am so thrilled that my stepdaughter is safe at last. She is staying with a friend until graduation and all her stuff is out of that hellhole.Safe at last!!!

She might even change her last name to mine.

National guard happy to deploy??? WTF?

Now as an active duty Marine I was ready to deploy and did deploy because that's what we do. I did not like being deployed but I guess it was because I got my paycheck from Uncle Sam regardless if I was here or overseas. These guys and ladies are in the National Guard. Part-timers, if you will and according to this story are happy to have jobs for the next year deployed in Iraq.

I see a trend on the forums and groups. A newcomer or even a oldtimer will see a piece of "vital OMG everbody needs to know this" information and it turns out that it is a couple of months old. It has already been discussed to the point of making people sick.

Take The Blair Holt HR45 bill that keeps popping up as if its the latest attack on the 2nd Ammendment. Now for those that dont know, HR45 is a truly heinous piece of work that would mandate a National Firearms License and criminalize private sales. It would be an unmitigated disaster for all gun enthusiasts.

That and other things that have been beaten into the ground discussed six ways to sunday, keep getting regurgitated by people too lazy to do a search and read the copious amount of messages referencing said topic.

All I am saying i guess is before you post something on a list, check the date and if it is more than a month old, check the archives. It is very well possible that another supergenious found the same article and posted it 3 weeks ago.

Oops my bad... I didn't mean to be a self serving ass**** who's penchant for greed pushed the economy into the worst economic crisis in almost a century...

Ive been following the news lately and trying to figure out the complex web of guilt and blame that everyone says is everybody Elses fault. OK, lets get one thing straight. Right now I am in college trying to get my first bachelors of education so i can teach Special Education. I am a poor college student who has to take out student loans in order to meet basic needs. I am also on the government's dole because I put in some time protecting the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Thank God I don't have to pay for healthcare because of that.

So I DON'T WANT to hear any more Sanctimonious Crap from anyone who says it is my fault. I don't own anything of high value except my truck and my guns. Well those and my life. I consider that and my families lives to be paramount in value.

Look I wish that I was partly to blame, maybe then I could feel a little guilty instead of outraged that some guys and gals made some pretty damn selfish decisions that turned out to be extraordinarily bad and I who was making way less than them has to bend over and take it like a man... Bull**** sez I.

First Post but not the Last

I almost came to the party late.

As a boy I was always dressing up in camo and sneaking thru backyards without being seen or caught. I had "gear caches" that if/when the Russians invaded i was all set to go "Red Dawn". I had my Ruger 10/22 broken down and kept it packed in a knapsack along with camo clothes and paint, JIC. Then I found girls and that faded away during high school. After high school I joined Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. I learned about small arms and Big Guns and small unit tactics. I enjoyed my time in the Marines but had knee surgery and was discharged. It happened right as I was getting out anyway, so it worked out. Fast forward 13 years to 35. It only took me 32 years to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. So I am pursuing a teaching career. So my Sugar Momma is supporting me while I go to college.

I have my views and for me, they work. YMMV considerably. I don't believe in any conspiracy theories. Tin Foil Brigade members tend to piss me off. But sometimes I say to myself "What if ?"

I don't prepare for TEOTWAWKI, I prepare for the time after it.
